It WILL be the worst day of the year as a convicted felon and rapist will be inaugurated president of my country, and swear on a Bible to defend the constitution which he has already promised to destroy...but I will definately wear all my bright colors and not spend money - do I sound bitter? Why, yes, I do! Apologies for venting - I'm actually going to a Martin Luther King Day breakfast with my local NAACP chapter and concentrate on the work of MLK Jr and not DJT. Glad to see you back, Catherine!

I've totally avoided the news today, MK - no need for me to see *that* take place. =sigh=

Who'd have thought [four years ago] that this day could even have been possible for the US?! Hope your MLKD breakfast made up for it, and thank you x

One of my winter hobbies is seeing projected sunset and sunrise times, glad I'm not the only one! I take no notice of the Blue Monday crap, Valentine's Day or any of the other manufactured "events". Prefer spring and summer but we have to get through it. At least the light, and frosts, are beautiful.

I've never thought of it like a winter hobby, Gail - but yes we enjoy the same hobby, lol! 🌞🌛

Seems you're like me in taking no notice of manufactured events, I think my mother ingrained it within me with her hatred of Mothers Day. Hopefully we'll get to spring before long...!

I’m boycotting Monday, which will be a depressing day due to the Trump inauguration.

We love Philomena Cunk!

Oh gawd I hadn't realised the coinciding of Blue Monday with that event, peeceeAZ...! 😬😬😬

May I suggest a Cunkathon to get through the day...? x

I'm sure blue Monday is depressing for some people because we're told we should be depressed! I may wear blue that day (in fact there's a 90% chance of it), but only because its my happy colour and about 80 % of my wardrobe is blue!

For me I'll be celebrating the fact that two days later our rottweiler will be a teenager in human years, in dog years she's about 90! I'll take that as she's 4 years older than the average rottie and still going strong!

You're 100% right, Susan - I think the person who "invented" Blue Monday has since said it was meant to be an encouraging thing, but of course the media just rams the depressing part down our throats...!!

Happy birthday to your rottie, how wonderful to get to 13!! Give her a cuddle and a "boop" from me 💖

Blue Monday, I had never heard of it until it was all over the internet last year - I will continue to ignore it! I do hope Spring, sunshine and warmer weather come soon and I wish for a better 2025 for you, sounds like 2024 was awful! Lots of love xx

Thanks so much, Debbie - I'm definitely thinking good things for 2025. Today was actually very nice and sunny, if a bit chilly: I cannot WAIT for spring!! x

Everyone knows the most miserable day is somewhere in February when we've had three days of sunshine and then it freezes again! I can't wait for spring 😀

Oh god I'm in TOTAL agreement about February, Tresi - there is noooooothing positive about Feb, I hate it!! Though tell a lie, there is just one thing: it's only one month away from March and that means spring. It's the only thing it's got going for it. February can go do one for all I care, LOL 😂
